Most loricariids and many other fish eat fouling. Fouling describes a comglomerate of plant and animal organisms that form a living film on rocks, boulders, wood, roots and any substrate. It is a species community of algae, bacteria, crustaceans, worms, insect larvae, and various microorganisms. This living community is food for many fish.
Discusfood has developed a new type of fish food especially for L catfish and other bottom-dwelling fish. Its name is „Pleco & Catfish Algae Wafers“. The ingredients of Pleco & Catfish Algae Wafers imitate the nutrient composition of aufwuchs. The wafers are not pressed from waste powders from other feed production. They are produced like granules, only formed into small chips. High quality granules are produced by an extruder process. This is the best way to produce high quality dry feed. This way of feed production does not need heat. All valuable nutrients and vitamins are preserved.

Ingredients: Crude protein 39.4%, crude fat 4.2%, crude fiber 5.3%, crude ash 9.6%.
Vitamins per kg: A 20000 IU, D3 1500 IU, E 150 mg, K3 5 mg, C 150 mg, B1 7.5 mg, B2 10 mg, B3 50 mg, B6 6 mg, B12 0.025 mg, biotin 0.25 mg, folic acid 2.5 mg, choline chloride 300 mg, inositol 250 mg, pantothenic acid 25 mg.
Trace elements: E1 – ferrous sulfate monohydrate 24 mg, E2 – potassium iodide 0.3 mg, E4 – copper sulfate pentahydrate 3 mg, E5 – manganese oxide 31 mg, E6 – zinc oxide 30 mg, E8 – sodium selenite 0.1 mg.
Ingredients: Bacterial protein from Corynebacterium glutamicum, algae (10% kelp and 8% spirulina), cereals, vegetables, vegetable protein extracts, insects (10%), krill (MSC certified, 5%), minerals, herbal extracts.
Feeding instructions: Complete feed for ornamental fish. Feed this food daily in small portions.
