The live nitrifying bacteria it contains colonise filter media and surfaces, where they reliably convert ammonium and nitrite into the significantly less harmful nitrate.
The innovative combination of highly concentrated bacterial cultures and high-quality zeolite offers a decisive advantage: zeolite binds ammonium whilst simultaneously providing an ideal colonisation surface for beneficial filter bacteria.
